Travelling Expenses

We are fortunate to have been awarded grants by, amongst others, the Holywood Trust and the John Younger Trust. We are very grateful for all donations which give us funds to be able to reimburse travelling expenses.  We want to make access to DGYO activities inclusive and equitable for young musicians from the whole of Dumfries & Galloway and we are very well aware that it costs a lot in fuel and time for folk coming from Stranraer or Langholm, for example, to a more central location such as Castle Douglas or Dumfries.

So if anybody would like some financial support for their travel arrangements, we now offer reimbursement of public transport or fuel costs. Please spread the word about this in case there are other young musicians out there where travel costs might be an impediment to their joining the DGYO.

All you need do is to email our treasurer Peter Hutchison at This email address is being protected from spambots. Looking to the future, we need to work to give the DGYO a more secure financial structure so we would like to hear from anybody with any ideas as to how we might do this.  For example, we might want to recruit a body of patrons who could support us on a regular basis.  As you will know, we are a registered charity so any donations we receive will be eligible for Gift Aid which increases the amount by 25% - a significant benefit.  The Gift Aid form that must be completed for us is available on the web site at http://dgyouthorchestra.org/images/documents/DGYO-Gift-Aid-form.pdf.
